An effective way to promote your practice is by delivering a public service message.

The Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians has recently endorsed the “Be a Tree” program, created by Doggone Safe. This program teaches children to be safe around the family dog and other dogs they may encounter. The program is delivered to school age children from Kindergarten to grade 5. Careful concern has been implemented to ensure the program is fun and the message is positive.

You can help empower children by purchasing the “Be a Tree” teacher kit, and sending your technician out to your community to educate. Ideas of where to present include: local schools, guides, scouts, 4H groups, community events, or host your own client education event.
