Advanced Wildlife Technician & Wildlife Field Studies

Seneca College, King Campus

These courses are open to veterinary technicians, veterinarians, plus technician students and veterinary students.

Advanced Wildlife Technician builds advanced skills required for technicians working in the specialized field of zoo and wildlife medicine.  Topics covered include immobilization, anesthesia, normal and abnormal hematology, avian bandaging, emergency and critical care, turtle trauma, post mortem, wildlife rehabilitation, the technician in zoo medicine, individual species care, orphan care.  Placements are in a wildlife rehabilitation or zoo setting.

20 CE credits

 

Wildlife Field Studies will provide an in-depth coverage of skills required to participate in wildlife field survey projects, including tracking utilizing radio telemetry.  The course will also include practical experience in the field, on actual field projects.

OAVT Online CE Courses

The OAVT provides Continuing Education through our online webinar system.  This technology enables you to watch an online seminar, then to take a short test afterwards which qualify as CE credits.  This learning opportunity is open to the public and other jurisdictions in addition to RVTs in Ontario.
